Hamlin Grange
is president and co-founder of ProMedia International Inc., a media
consulting and production company. The rich cultural diversity of Canada
and the world's peoples are key themes in all ProMedia projects, from
programs to strategic planning. As a diversity change management consultant,
Hamlin facilitates producers and managers in projects related to the
integration of cultural diversity into their work.
Hamlin is also co-founder of Innoversity, whose annual Creative Summit
draws over 700 delegates from all areas of media, NGOs and government
agencies to share ideas and showcase solutions, successes, best practices
and breakthroughs in serving a culturally diverse society.
Hamlin has a B. Sc. in Journalism from the University of Colorado. After
working as a reporter at Denver's Rocky Mountain News, he returned to
Canada as managing editor of Canada's black community newspaper, Contrast.
He has also been a reporter for the Toronto Star and Global Television
as well as an assignment editor, municipal affairs reporter, host, interviewer
and news anchor for CBC Television.
Hamlin has won numerous awards for his work, including a B'Nai Brith
Human Rights Award for Journalism, a Gemini, a Black Film and Video
Achievement Award, the African Canadian Achievement Award and awards
from the New York and Houston International Film and Video Festivals.
His voluntary work includes mentoring minority professionals in the
media. A founder of both the Harry Jerome Awards and the Harry Jerome
Scholarship Fund, he is currently President of the Canadian Association
of Black Journalists, a member of the Board of the Black Film and Video
Network and a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater
Toronto.
Cynthia Reyes
is co-founder of Innoversity and vice-president of ProMedia International
Inc. She started her career as a television journalist, then became
a producer-director and executive producer in the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation. Her work attracted many industry honours. In 2000, Reyes
launched ProMedia International Inc., a full-service consulting and
training company with a special interest in diversity.
